I went to the lfs yesterday, and in the goldfish tanks they had what looked like slices of grape fruit and\or lemons floating in the tank, and some of the goldfish where all over them, I have never seen any one feed goldfish fruit.
Does any one know why?

I've never heard of this, but I wouldn't do it myself due to the citric acid.
Remember in a lfs they have very specialised filtration systems and that can't really be matched in the home set up.

Are sure it wasn't Cucumber, never heard of feeding Fruits like Lemons etc. A Goldfish would not have the digestive system to deal with these foods if they were included in their diet long term.

Iam pretty sure that it wasnt cucumber, it was either grape fruit or a big lemon, it was also hollowed out so it was just the skin, no meat was left, also it wasnt in any of the tanks with buble eyes, fantails it was just in with the comets.
