Goldfish And A 40 Gallon Breeder

Is a 40 gallon "breeder" tank big enough for two fantail goldfish long term? Tank dimensions are 36"Wx16"Hx18"deep.

Sounds absolutely fine to me for 2 fantails in the long term .

General rule for fancies is 20gallons for the first fish, then 10 gallons for each thereafter. Make sure you have good filtration though

Personally though i would stick to no more than 3 fantail goldfish in this tank as they are some of the largest growing fancy goldfish and the tank is not that long .

yeah but if you want 2 thats fine, more is not always better . Glad to see someone not putting them in bowls and asking questions....
