Hi,

I own 5 panchax killi fish however 2 which I think are males are fighting and one of them is loosing and seems to have been shredded a fair bit?

Do I split them up and hope it heals or is it best to get rid of torn one?!

Just split them up, I don't know what you mean by getting rid of the torn one, hopefully not euthanasia :/
IMO, a single golden wonder can be kept in a 5g minimum, so getting it into a different tank shouldn't be a problem :)

I have golden wonder killifish too. I think you can identify males because they are more bright yellow than the females which are sort of a silvery color. But try to keep 2 females for every male

You don't say what type of panchax you are keeping but I assume they are the common Golden Wonders so to speak. The males of Aplochelius Lineatus gold are fighting for dominance and the right to spawn with the females. If confined to a small tank then the dominant male will chase the other one until death, so it is best to remove that one. The fins will grow back given proper water changes and a good feeding regime. The give him one of the females.

i've been keeping these fish for a few months now
originally bought a male and female for a 5 gallon tank to see how they'd do

they both jumped out afetr a week

we got another pair and the male jumped out so we put the female in the 50 gallon, which has a tight lid

we then got her a male which was a bit smaller then her

they showed some breeding behavior but the eggs were all eaten
then the male jumped out from somewhere, enever really found out where but oh well...

the female always tries to jump out when the lid is open for feeding or water changes too.

make sure the lid is very tight on any tank you plan to use for them!
