Both my golden mussels have died, one on Friday and one today.

They where in a community tank, no other deaths or sick fish. Malaysian trumpet snails all appear to be active. Only thing I have added to the tank recently was a Hagen CO2 Natural Plant System* and some free plant food that came with it, but that was over three weeks ago.

Anything I should check before buying anymore?

*Why do you hate the packets that comes with these kits, I used them and its been bubbling nicely for three weeks.

I should have searched better before asking. According to previous posts, it looks like they may have starved to death :(

I have two Swan mussels in my gold fish tank. That tank has an algae problem, in fact the mussels have a green velvet coat, with spots where the snails have been. Do you think they will be OK or should I start feeding them? If so, what is best?

When you say it has an algae problem, do you mean the water is green too? If so then they dont really need to be fed.
But if the waater is clear you should feed them something like fish flakes powdered down and mixed in a syringe until the water in the syringe is cloudy, then you squirt it close to the mussel for it to filter.
You can also buy filter food for marine tanks thatwould work, you dose them daily or something...

The water is clear, but everything in the water soon gets a green coat, the Mussels, the snails, glass, gravel, etc, but not the fish.

I'll start feeding them tomorrow.
