i ask cuz i have some and they have eggs on the side of the tank some times but they never hatch i would like alot more and my friend in the pet shop asked if could breed them as well cuz they have had truble with geting the snails to mate so they are always looking for them ...................oh and hows the best way to get rid of little red snails that wont stop breeding i dont no what typ of snail they are but they are worse then rabbits and are killing alot of plants

Make sure the eggs are kept moist, but not wet. Sometimes the condensation in the tank lid is enough to keep them moist, but maybe it's not if yours aren't hatching.

yer mine do the same mate, ive had two lots of eggs, the first lot didnt hatch, but the second lot now look a lot more promising

hmmm  but they are a hard typ of snail to breed right ? i mean when you look at alot of other snail typs that seem to become a big problem cuz you cant get rid of them or stop them breeding after eggs hatch ......hmmm iu wounder what typ of snail would be the hardest to breed  ?

Apple snails are not as easy to breed for 2 reasons...
First you need one of each sex.. other snails can breed without a partner
Second they lay eggs out of the water, this means its not easy to get the correct temperature and humidity for them to hatch.
I found that the first few batches never seem to hatch. They seem to do better in larger aquariums also.
Plus the PH must be above 7PH otherwise they will loose calcium from their shells quickly and die within a month or two. they need a varied diet. I feed mind cucumber and mixed pellets.. Shrimp/green lipid musscel/bloodworm. Plec wafers and catfish pellets. they seem to do well and breed and grow quickly to :)

if u were going to set up a tank just for the snails to breed and you were shore you had both male and female how would u set it up and what temperature would u use ?
