Golden Apple Snail

hi, one of my apple snails is laying on the tank floor, with its operculum open, laying on its back, with its body partially out and not moving. is he ill, or worse?

give it a sniff.

give it a gentle prod, if it moves well obviously its alive. If you aren't sure you could move it to a separate container for a few days.

Alternatively sniffing it is a good idea, however if its freshly dead it won't smell for a few days...
