Golden Apple Snail Eggs!

Hi all,

Great forum!

Last week my Golden Apple Snail started laying eggs. It's laid five batches in the hood of my tank, and I don't know what to do with them, if anything?

I want to keep the offspring, so I'm not looking for advice on how to get rid of them.

The eggs are grouped in five 'lumps' consisting of at least 50 eggs in each. They're a kind of orangey/pinky colour. The oldest batches now appear to be drying out.

Do I need to do anything with these eggs to increase the chances of them hatching?

Any advice much appreciated!

Al

Its a great site and covers exactly what you are asking!

good luck, i used to keep hundreds of them!

first of all do you have more then one snail or was your snail recently purchased "trying to get a idea if their fertile" you want to keep the eggs moist, not wet, but try putting the clutches in a peice of styrafoam floating in a covered container, that way it hold the humidity in, and whne the babies hatch they can crawl to the water, clutches will drown if placed directly in the water, with any luck in 2 weeks you will have babies, and you can give me some,...
