Gold Spotted/nugget Pleco Turning Brown?

My new gold spotted pleco seems to be turning brownish...... is this normal!??!

Hmmm... strange.. it was sold to me as a "gold spotted pleco".. and it doesn't have bristles on its nose at all, I assume that was what made something a "bristlenose"...

So no idea why he would be turning brown though......? regardless of what it is..

Doesn't look like a golden nugget to me either.

Some Plecs change colour/pattern as they mature.

Your fish is a Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus, it's one of the 'common plecos' and it's other common names are L001 and 'gold spot pleco'. These fish can vary in their colour and pattern from day to day, and will often become duller with age, so it's normal.
