gold mystery snail digging?

I got up this morning and noticed that my gold mystery snail was digging in the gavel. I was just wondering what it is doing?

Trying to get hold of a big lump of algae, or maybe a fish flake, I expect.

He's just snooping for some yummy yucky stuff to eat. I have 4 huge ones in one tank and I cannot keep my plastic plants buried,and they ate my live plants down to sticks. They tear my tank apart. lol I'll rearrange it,get it looking nice and pretty,and that night all of my plants are floating on top of the water. They're messy.
