gold gouramis

How can you tell the sexes of them? I have to and they have been chasing each other around the tank. ones is darker then the other too. Do i have a pair maybe? Could they go in a tank with a pai of convict cichlids? I think the gouramis are bigger then the convicts.

As far as sexing, I have been reading (as we just added 3 gouramis to our tank) that the males dorsal fin is longer and pointy, where as the females is shorter and rounded.....if that's so, we've got a male and two females in there.

What kind of gouramis do you have grulla?

I have a blue, opaline and lavender. But I looked at the gold ones, and noticed that they all pretty much have the same body type, just different in color. My lavender (had never heard of it till seeing it at the LFS, and there's quite a color/pattern difference on this one!) is the male, the blue and opaline are females. Don't want any fry....and it wasn't until AFTER I picked up the lavender male that I learned how to sex them.
