can a beta mix with those 3 types of barbs? gold, cherry, and rosy

I wouldn't. Most barbs other than cherry barbs are aggressive.

awwwww, man, cause i get real sad when i see the beta in their containers looking all sick :(

I've kept Bettas males with all of those species with no problems but the Rosy barbs were in a 50g tank. Gold barbs are as peaceful as cherries. In a small tank the results could be different.

If you buy a Betta in a cup it needs time to gain condition before being put in a large tank so a couple of weeks in quarantine - I use 10g for this - helps regain swimming muscle tone. At a push a breeding net would allow the betta, which may never have had chance to swim, to adapt.

I currently have a Bettas in tanks from 10g to 120g. No problems.
