Gold Barbs

i have 3 gold barbs which iv now owned for over a year and recently iv noticed some red marks on them. i have seen the smallest barb sort of attacking the two bigger ones starting of mouth to mouth and then they move side to side. iv not seen anything malicious and the marks are only minor but i was wondering what is up with them

Has the smaller presumably the male tried forcing the 2 larger presumably females into a specific area as mine did this when he was trying to breed when i had gold barbs?

not really he generally just oes from one to the other usually under my fry net
