Gold Barb Dominance,,,,......

Ive had 1 gold barb in my tank since i got it and always planned to get a shoal of atleast 4 or more gold barbs.

Today i went and bought 3 gold barbs and at first they hid for 3 or 4 hours (i know this is normal)

My original gold barb surrounded each of them and although he didnt touch them he went in circles around them over and over round and round and round sort of twitching as he circled them.

Now there all out of hiding and swimming together but the original gold barb looks as though hes swimming into them/fighting with them 1 by 1. Seems a little rough. Is this normal?

Its ok now, seems to have been a game i guess, there all playing in the bubbles now.

I bought these 3 from my LFS and the colouring of them was very DULL almost looked albino due to lack of colouring. After 6 or 7 hours in the tank the colouring had come out a fair bit. My original gold barb is very bright orange/black/red(almost) Now 1 day later the colouring of the 3 i got from lfs is ALMOST the same as my original gold barb.

How can they colour so fast? is it because the water condition is perfect? or lighting? or what? i am shocked at there transformation in such little time!

£1.10 each they were, bargain.
