Gold Ancistrus

Picked up 1 of these today, really nice looking fish, very small at the minute, anyone else got 1 of these? Anything I should know about them?

I have a Gold Albino (red eyes), is yours the one with black or blue eyes ?

I'd say they were black, definitely not red, the guy who sold it to me at the shop told me the black eyes meant it was rarer? Not sure though myself.

Sounds like you have an L144 (black eyed yellow/gold), lovely little plecs. Not so much rare, more that your average LFS dont stock them but they are quite easy to obtain privatley.

I've got some of these two,- a albino female plus some juvenile longfins. Lovely fish. Got a breeding pair of standard longfins too along with lots of juveniles. Excellent algae eaters!

Longfins sound nice, I'm tempted getting a girly but don't know if my tank is gig enough , 20 galon long and there's a male in already ? ? ?
L144 are nice , have seen them with blueish ees, I have the Albino but he's really yellow with lots of red through, never see him but I wouldn't part with him ......
