I agree with you whole-heartedly on that hyrookin. Manning has a tendency to blame teammates for losses. I've heard him bash his defense for not stopping plays, heard him knock his offensive line, I've heard him bash his own RECEIVERS because they weren't catching passes that Jerry Rice couldn't catch (Manning, like all QBs has bad games).
I personally think that Brady and Manning are neck and neck as far as ability go. Calling Manning the comeback kid now? I don't really think so, now if he could do it like that, in the playoffs, over and over, for 4-5 straight years like Brady has done then, yes, I will concede that point.
Brady shares the wealth, he passes to just about every receiver equally, dependent on their playing time of course, you won't see as many receptions from a 2nd or 3rd stringer as you will a starter but when those 2nd or 3rd stringers come in you know they will be getting some receptions. Manning tends to throw to guys he practices with more, guys he has a rhythm with. Having a rhythm with a guy is not, by any stretch of the word, a bad thing, I just prefer to see just about every player have a hand in a win or a hand in the loss, that way the "blame" can be spread equally without pointing fingers.
With all that being said, he is a great QB and he probably does deserve a Superbowl ring. But the crappy thing for him is that this may be the only time in his career he gets a shot at it. If he doesn't achieve it now he may never will and all those comparisons between he and Marino will have more weight to them.
I'm torn on who to root for because I'm an AFC guy but I don't like the Colts and I want to see the Bears win but I can't stand Rex Grossman.
Ah, screw it, I won't be able to watch the game anyway, I don't have cable!!!
