A larger cory raising tank, well ontop of my massive amount of hatched corys what are doing great, i have had another batch of eggs on sunday, i didnt hold much hope in them as i man handled them a bit and had them out of the water than longer than i would of liked, but turns out this evening ive had about 35-50 hatched not been counting just been transfering them from the trap to the tank and their is a load of them.

Quite enjoying the amount of success im getting from them and im starting to beleive the reason the last eggs from previous batchs didnt hatch is because they were not actually fetilised, none of the current eggs im getting are fungussing or going bad so im on a bit of a roll with them :good:

Ps anyone want any albino corys

Where are you?
Will you ship them?
Are you selling them or giving them away?

Just a few things you should mention when asking if anyone wants some... :#

Hi thanks for reply ill probably be growing them on and selling to the local fish store and a couple on here im in the uk so a little far to ship but can ship to the uk, they going to need atleast 4-6 weeks to grow i would imagine going on how fast my last lot have grown

Hi stiffler69

I'm envious. Mine are overdue for their next bout of laying.

Just for my own curiosity, what method do you use to harvest the egg and how/where do keep them in the new 'trap'? And how long before you transfer them to the nursery tank?

Cheers.

hello i keep them inside the trap in the main tank wait for them to hatch then pop them straight into the nursery tank as long as the ones inside are not too big that they will cause them damage or attempt to eat them they seem to be fine, When removing the eggs from the area they were layed i just roll them onto my finger tips then roll them onto the side of the traps, the gaps in the hatchery allow for water to flow through it slowly but it keeps them airated and i normally put the trap in the flow of the filters so i know their is a constant flow, seems to be working at the moment.

Ohhh...

You roll them onto your finger?! Man, I would never have the confidence to do that. Maybe I've just too cautious...

As I always say, 'whatever works' and 'your mileage may vary'.

I'm impressed.

i roll them onto my finges aswell then onto what ever im keeping them in to hatch,
i think the first times the hardest as you do pop some of the eggs as u dont know how mutch presure to put on them but u get used to it after uve done it a few times :good:

I depends some on the species too in how to harvest the eggs. Some when you try to roll them they just float away......lol I have to either put something under to catch them or grasp them. Some I have to practically pry loose. My sterbai the other day must have wiggled through a tangle of moss to lay an egg. I really had to work to get those. And I have to get them quick! because somebody in that tank is a piggy! They are gone in a an hour. :X

I do use a blade or scraper for some.

Right now my albino peppers are laying so many that they can't eat them all and I have little white critters scurrying all over the black sand. I have no idea what I am going to do with them all.
