Going shopping for a new tank

I am going to start shopping for a new tank.
I currently have a planted 16 Gal that has been running without any problems since Jan.
I am looking at a 50-60 Gal.
It will house 2 angels, 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 bala sharks. The main reason for upgrading is to give those guys more room before it's too late (they are still small)

Is there anything i should look out for?
Should i look at taller or shorter and longer?
Seeing as most of you have upgraded before.


All i know is that i will be getting a Eheim canister filter and an Ebo Jager heater.
Everything else is up in the air.

with u haveing two balas, u will need length
but
with you havin 2 angels... u will need hight

iv been advised that for angels its best to have a 20min in height....

so maybe somthin like a
48x15x21 would be best? thats if you could get that?

I don't know if you can buy All-Glass Aquariums where you live, but I know it's a big company. Here's a link to their site so you can get a good idea of the sizes available. I would think other companies would be pretty much the same.

Well...went in looking for a 50..ended up with a 65gal.
I picked up the stand, gravel/florite and Eheim today, the tank and 110W lighting system come in tomorow.
