well the only thing holding me back from going pressurized is the unavailability of a normal c02 tank and a place where i can get it refilled ! but i finally found alternatives (contacted a friend of mine into the c02 business) and im finally going to go pressurized !!

il be using a small air gun tank however :( still couldn't source a reasonably sized c02 tank (one that is not as tall as me :/ ) and il be using a air gun regulator modified for aquarium use! :)

il be using it in my 2.5 gal nano which i will be starting over this weekend (too much algae !!) so what do you guys think ?? hehehe BTW ? how do you know how many bubbles per minute to inject ??

On a 2.5 gallon i cant imagine it would take to many bubbles to reach 30ppm, i think its great, perfect for a small nano tank, it should solve your algae problems, now all you have to do it get a bigger pressurised system for your main tank.

Inject the bubbles slowly in the beginning although if you have no fish in there i wouldnt worry about OD'ing on the co2 (but i think you do if i remember correctly....a guppy)

i hooked up the cylinder to my main tank and its going okay ! suprisingly well i should say :) the only downside would be the more frequent refills for the canister ( which would not pose a problem since i could have it refilled via my friend)... :)

yup zig its a guppy, im gonna redo the tank this weekend because the algae is hopeless.... :) wish me luck ! il post pics of the airgun rig later.... maybe some people might get ideas off of it

Can't wait to see the rig.

Might Give me an Idea or 2.

Like you I don't want to have to Deal with a Tank as BIG as Me.

But on the BRIGHT SIDE of it. We'd only have to Refill, What Lets say, Every Year or More....

heres a pic of the rig :) please dont mind my toes

COOL "Thanks a BUNCH"

I have a FEW of those Tanks Lying around myself, Tubing as well as the Pop Bottles.

Correct me if I'm WRONG but it Looks like a 1 Liter?

I think I'll Give It a Shot...

My Wife is gonna CRINGE when she sees my NEW DYI Project...

She's usually figuring I'll either BLOW something Up or Burn Something Down..... :hey:

the tank is a 16oz one i think, the small plastic soda bottle is its bubble counter :) errr you could consider the toe for size reference .. im size 10..

anyway the problem with airgun c02 is looking for a regulator valve that would fit. The reason i did not go pressurized ASAP is because i could not source a regulator for the air gun tank... once i found one it was easy after that.
