Hi guys,
Thanks to the invaluable advice in these boards I've been keeping my fish alive and kicking (after a few bumps in the road, of course! ;) ) for 6 months now, so my guess is my tank's already mature.
This Saturday I'm leaving on holidays for 1 week and have already instructed people on how to feed them, and tomorrow I'm getting a timer to turn lights on and off. I'm also doing a 25% waterchange on Friday evening.

Is there anything I'm missing?
In case I can't get the timer for the lamp, would it be too much of a problem to leave the lights off for the whole week?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks like you've got everything covered. If you have to leave the lights off for a week, your fish will be fine although any live plants you have may suffer a bit. If i go away for about a week, I leave my lights off and have never had a problem.

The water change before leaving is a good idea and should keep everything balanced while you are away.

Enjoy your holiday! :D

I keep my lights of quite a lot because i get plenty of light in the room on a sunny day, turn them on if its cloudy though. And the sun gets directly on the tank for about half hour tops so that helps the plants :), when i go away i'm just putting one of those pet sitter food tablets in, that will save people forgetting to feed my fish lol
