I've had this goby for a couple of months now and placed it on various forums asking for an id but nobody has given me a definite answer! so I thought I'd ask again  it was labelled as a Fusi Goby but looking at the online pictures it is definitely not so would anyone care to help me I have never seen one in the shops before and the chap said they have had it for a while with no interest so he was glad it was getting a new home, is it because nobody knew what it was? :shifty: I can provide more recent pics if the pic I have provided is not clear enough.

You might want to ask in the saltwater section. It's probably not an oddball there. Also if you haven't tried reefcentral.com might be able to help. I don't know if I can post that as its another forum. So mods please delete if I'm breaking any rules.

For sure it's not a freshwater oddball! Perhaps a moderator can move this to the marine section?

Cheers, Neale

Whoops! sorry about that! I had just read the post of the mystery goby and it reminded me of mine that I hadn't had id'd yet so I thought I'd put mine back on again :p I'll put it in the marine section.

Looks like a Wui Goby Rhinogobius wui commonly sold for no apparent reason as a Wurri Goby or sometimes even as a 'Dwarf Dragon Goby'

It's a freshwater temperate species. Likes the water clean and not too warm. Eats inverts such as bloodworm.

Here's a picture of ours.

Hi, many thanks for your response :) I have a positive ID now, I'm pretty sure it's a fan shrimp goby, a rarity in the aquatic trade :good: my fish is definitely marine too, here are some pics I found online http://reeftools.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Tomiyamichthys-latrunculari.jpg
