On average they don't come up above the 950meter depth (3,116 feet), usually deeper than that. Nothing to worry about with them, besides they don't eat people or anything our size. :D
 
Very unusual shark, buit as we know, we haven't scratched the surface of what really lives down there!!. It's amazing and love hearing about this type of finds. Just shows you :)
 
They live at massive depths and are hard to be seen, the last time i seen one caught was about 12 years ago.
 
I just had a look at the pic and i didnt know it was dead because when you pull them out of the water they are pure white not red, i have some pics from my shark boks that i will post
