Ok guys well as the title suggests, I need some help and advice glueing the glass strips back on top the top of my Clearseal 10g tank.

I removed them to make space for my HOB filter which had to hang on the back, hence why I needed to remove the glass strips on the inside front and back glass panels.

As I have now converted to a Betta tank with a sponge filter I no longer need the HOB filter. How could I glue these strengthening glass strips back on? I have seen some "sealant" on the market which is non-toxic and you don't have to empty the aquarium but I think I will have to anyway to ensure that the strips are glued on the glass whilst it is 100% straight and not slightly bent due to the water pressure.

Do these "sealants" also act as an adhesive? Or will I need the glue and the sealant? I'm only really doing this as I have a hang on light and need a see through lid which can sit inside the glass nicely, i.e. on the glass strips.

Thanks,
AW

I'd have guessed the sealant would have done. We've just glued (last weekend) my boyfriends tank back together with sealant (however it wasn't structural). I'd be interested in hearing other peoples results though!
