I am about to breed my glowlite tetras. There is a female that has plumped up quite niceley and seems ready to go so I searched the Internet for advice. A lot of it was conflicting in nature; so I'm going to post the steps here and see if anybody has any suggestions...
  • Set up a 5 gallon tank, small sponge/carbon filter, breeding grass, heater, bubble wand if needed...
  • Add mix of soft and tap water to tank, raise temp to 80 degrees
  • Add female and feed her quality food for a couple days
  • Add a male, some plants, black water (peat), and cover the back and sides to keep light out
  • If they drop eggs, remove parents and cover front of tank so very little if no light gets in, use liqui-fry to get a culture in the water
  • Wait a couple days for the fry to hatch
  • Continue feeding liquifry before moving to microworms and baby brine shrimp

Use a spare room with curtains and light coming through.Use ro water and mix quarter of normal tank water.Put 2 spawning mops on floor of bare tankand 1 floating using a peice of polysyrene.Put the parents in at night and check out the tank after the light has come up.If eggs laid take parents out, close curtains add methyl blue so the eggs dont fungus.and so on
