Ok so I've had glowlight tetras for a few years and I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that they sometimes get white edges to the tips of their fins when they are sort of displaying to each other?

Why do they do this? I thought at first it might be when they are courting but mine do it pretty often even when they arent courting each other!

mine always look like that. i just thought it was normal colouration. i'm no fish expert though

Ive noticed that when you first put Glowlights in your tank they really dont show there true colours until a few weeks after....i know 99% of fish are all like that, you prob just aint noticed the markings......bit like i didnt till bout 6 months after i bought them lol

Mine have it too, thought it was finrot at first.

I had them for a couple of years when my dad set up my first ever tropical tank and they always did the same of just flashing the white every now and then rather than it being there permanetly which is why I thought that they used them for signaling as it tends to show up whilst the males are doing some sort of display and then the females sometimes do it too! Oh well I'll just have to watch them and find out I quite like it when it shows up
