hello

went to my lfs today and i fell in love with the glowlight danios they had.
and in decmber pfk magazine they said that they can go in cool water without a heater.
my tank is well understocked so i'm getting some in a few weeks but i just need to make sure they're ok at cooler temps?

many thanks

david

I read that they are best kept in temps from 22c to 26c.

I have never kept them myself so i can't really comment on keeping them at lower temps.

thats what i mean, there seems to be a big cuffufle about the temp preference of glowlight danios.

yes they do best in a temp range of 22-26c

oh ok.
no glowlight danios for me then.
would they be ok in 22*C?
don't want them to be unhappy.

thanks!

david

you seem to be confused
the lowest temp the glowlight danio can be happily housed in is 22c
the highest is 26c, any temp in between those two will be ok :good:

i am.lol

might just let go of them.

unless i get some for my tropical 15g(soon to be). it's between them and danio roseus.

thanks for all your help!

david

I kept Glowlights in my tropical tank but wouldnt really recommend for cooler tanks. What about the white cloud mountain minnows? they live in cooler temps and are similar size to glowlights.

i know im going to be killed after saying this but i've never been kean on WCMM's.

I've had d.roseus reach 9cm before, they need a lot of swimming room
as do most danionins
for a 30x12x? you really should stick to any danio upto d.rerio size
so that is d.nigrofasciatus, d.choprae, d.kerri, d.erythromicron or D.sp Pantheri.

EDIT- how come on your website it says they grow to 2" and a 24" tank is min? not trying to be rude there.

at the time that was the stated size for them, I had not had them long so was unable to say any different.
once I get my backside in gear I'll update my website. :good:
