I want to install T5 lights in a 48" tank, however due to old style lid I only have 47" max room.
I currently have 42" T8 attached to the front and back of the tank run off a T8 double ballast. (attached into the wood via brackets)
Therefore the light comes from the front and back but not the middle of the tank.
I cant add anything above the tank so think this is my only option.
there is a wooden bar across the middle of the tank and therefore anything must fit under this (ruling out attaching lights to the lid)
The new ballasts seem to come in 54W and 46" plus what ever the end caps add to the length ( anyone any idea of length with caps)
so any thoughts / ideas to help
how much more light will I get if they fit.
