glass?

I work in a glass factory, so no problem getting whatever size or thickness I want. If your looking to obtain glass try a glass or double glazing manufacturers they usually have a trade counter.

all home improvement stores in the US sell it .... i work in the lumber (building commodities - windows, doors, lumber, siding, etc) department part time and we sell and cut glass..

sweet... my mom said I could get started on my 250 gallon in 2 weeks. I hope that hom depot sells it!

ok so does home depot sell tempered glass?? lol cause my dad said that its best to use tempered glass!
well i don't work at home depot or lowes (actually chase-pitkin for anyone in the ny area), and we do not sell tempered glass...you would have to go to a glass shop for that most likely....reason being, our glass cutter would dull out in a day if we cut tempered glass ;)

oh... hey where do you get blades to cute glass?
the machine we use has a cutting wheel that slides vertically and a breaker bar to help snap it after its been cut (usually only for plexi but works on glass too)...

as for handheld tools, there are many different versions of cutting wheels on a handle...it is just that - a wheel with a very sharp blade...you can find it in the hardware department of any store...they should be near the plexi cutters which is the same type of design, but instead of a wheel it looks more like a hooked razor blade...i don't know if there isa cutter out there that has a built in straight edge, but you will need some kind of straightedge and clamps if you want any sort of straight line

to cut glass you basically just score it once (if you score more than once it will start to chip away and leave rough edges)...you then put it on the edge of a table so that the edge you cut is just over the edge of the table...you should then be able to snap it easily by pressing down on one side and keeping the other side secured to the table...\

i always recommend cutting glass with goggles and gloves on...you do NOT want to get glass shards in your eyes and cutting with these wheels tends to send little shards flyin sometimes
