im building a tank which requires half inch glass, is it possible to double up quarter inch glass both sides front and back and bottom? Like 2 pieces put together for the front and so on...

FOOL!

If you want to get any respect here do yourself a favour and don't just re-ask the same question again in a new thread, people will happily give you advice, but not if they think you are just going to post the question again if it's the 'wrong' answer for you.
Reposting your own questions will probably be the fastest way to ensure you get no help, and that would be a shame with such an ambitious diy project.

FOOL,

I wouldn't even attempt doubling up. You will not get a proper bond between both sheets and they will flex at different rates, causing no end of issues.

You could try to get hold of 1/2" LAMINATED glass (2x 3/16" panes of float with a 1/8" thick plastic sheet bonded between them - known in the UK as 'bomb-proof glass') , but this will invariably be more expensive than 1/2" or 5/8" thick float glass. Much stronger, granted, but a lot heavier too.

I'm a glass cutter by trade, do you really need help or is this a wind up
