glass eels

i went to a LFS today in san francisco where in one FRESHWATER tank were two fish labeled as "glass eels". they were about 5-6 inches long, silvery/translucent, and very very thin, like a piece of yarn or something.

i came home and googled them, because they were really neat. so far, i've only been able to find information about a glass eel that migrates from fresh to salt water to breed or something. basically, there isn't a whole of information.

anyone know anything about this?
sorry if i posted in the wrong area, they seemed like oddballs to me though

Found this article....if thats what you saw, I don't know why the lfs would have them, since they are so endangered...

Sounds like a juvenile Anguillid eel of some sort.
