Hi, i have a tank the size of 47"length, 31" heigh back and sides, 28" height front , and 5" depth. I need to cut the front glass about 3" to make it 25" so i can get my hand down to clean etc.

Is this a easy job? for a local glass cutter etc? Im hoping that i shouldnt need to remove the glass and silicon?

It's not an easy job, glass for tanks gets cut, then assembled. It would probably be much cheaper & easier to get a set of tank tools designed for deeper tanks.

Its a new tank, or drunken DIY episode... a pro will want the pane out of the tank = easier to get another tank.
Its easier than you think to cut glass yourself, but there is a "knack" and your tank isnt the place to learn ! If I were to do it, I think I also would take the pane out... but is it worth this much hassle ?

I ordered it a few weeks ago... tank has arrived, ive put the backing on which is black... sat it in the wall where it is going and ive not left enough space to get my hand down for cleaning (i sort of knew this lol)

If i can shorten the height of the front pane of glass.... it would sort my problem out :D

Pix...
