Hi,

My tank - must be three years old I think - has now got white water stains on the outside. Standard aquarium glass cleaner doesn't touch it.

Have read that vinegar may be used. I've just checked our cupboards and found some Sarson's Malt Vinegar. Is it suitable do we know?

Ingredients:

Malt Vinegar - from Barley,
Roast Barley Malt Extract

Cheers!

it is limescale build up wich is alkaline so the acidic vinegr should bring it off, just dont get any in the tank and wash it thouroughly after, it might be better to drain some of the tank. It may have becom 'etched' into the glass so some of it may be nigh on impossible to remove.
