Just wondering whats the best "clean up crew" to clean the glass of my tank?? or would a uv filter stop the dirt/algae

I'm afarid there is no easy answer. Best cleaners of glass are turbo snails of some kind. But the rest is just hard work and a good magi float glass cleaner that gets used daily! :p ;) And a nice green pan scrubber to reach to other bits by hand that wont scratch or damage the glass. Have fun!

magfloat :)

Honestly though, even the best snail winds its way along the glass, and only cleans around 50% of the glass surface in a given area. Many snails I've found are hesitant to crawl on the glass in open areas away from the rocks as well.

my astraea get on my glass everyone once and a while, but they eat slowly compared to how fast my algae grows. Magfloat, and phosphate reactor when things get out of hand.

The good thing is i have a whole side of my tank covered in green hair algae, sounds bad, but since it is rich in micro life and the shrimp perch on it almost all day long in a viewable position, its a small price i have to pay.

why sudnley would this happen! its a newley setup tank. would a uv help what (w) would i need to do a 500l tank? can i have to much watts of uv?

i wouldnt use UV as an effective algae remover, it can remove good stuff with the algae, algae is good in my books (and some others but not everyone), expensive, and a GFO phosphate reactor probably works just as good but a lot cheaper...

can i put some phosphate remover in my filter tray? or will this kill all the bits on my live rock?
