Mr Miagi
Veins are flowing with SW, now going back to FW!
Ok, seen as though that thread got locked... and not moved, i thought i would reply to it this way so you could all reply and comment aswell.
Ok, 4 glass cats may not be enough. In my experience 6-8 is a better number, so the more the better. I have 7. (one died from a bunged swim bladder)
Glass cats can take a while to become familiar with there surroundings. But the closer the tank resembles their natural habitat the better. Live plants, nice plain substrate (no BRIGHt blue and pink stuff), will make them feel all that much more at home quicker. A darker, dim light aquarium woulod be preffered. So add floating plants.
Strong current is a must really. Directed to an area which is both suitable for your tank, and in the position you most likely want to view your fish is beneficial as glass cats will rarely venture very far away from their chosen spot. An air stone wont be enough bioboy...
Feeding is quite easy really. Feed floating flake and they will venture to the surface to eat if they are already comfortable with their environment. Live food is relished and much appreciated, but frozen foods are just as good. Always try and feed infront of the fish as they wont travel far to eat.
In my experience, gregarious tank mates will not bother glass cats. And glass cats will not bother other tanbk mates either.
Here is a pick of mine. Not god really i know but its the only one ive taken in ages.
Hope i was of help. Benny
