Rabid Betta Activist
For those of you who read the post "Frightened Fish," you know about Shyboy, the betta who nearly died in the store from starvation, and wouldn't eat here because he is simply terrified of everything and runs away whenever you try to feed him. Well, he had eaten a pellet two days ago but is still scared, so they usually sink before he gets to them and I have to vacum them out.
Today, as an experiment, I added some Premium Tropical Flakes, and because they floated for so long (and because he's calming down a bit), he ate them quite readily. Since its all I can get him to eat right now, is it OK for him to be eating flakes? I don't think they have as much carnivore-savvy stuff in them as the pellets do, but he's refusing blood worms, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae, and pinhead crickets so I think he's stuck with flakes for now. Do I have to worry about malnutrition, because if his personality is just being terrified, I don't know if he'll ever eat more than a pellet or two on occasion. Is there a brand of flakes for carnivores that would better suit him? Any input appreciated as this is nothing I've ever experienced before.
