Super envy!!!!!

My favourite bird of all. I'd love to keep one.

Beautiful looking owl.

Wow I'd love a barn owl ( wha do you feed him/ her ?)

Very envious

yeah shes, great

she feed's on day old chicks, beef, quail's

if i get chance one day i'll upload her pictures of her from 8 days old and there is vids on youtube of her learning to fly and stuff like that

Beautiful Barn Owl ! I would love to be able to have one, you are so lucky to get to keep her. In the past I have cared for Boobook owls and Tawny Frogmouths (Tawny's are actaully a nightjar), but a Barn Owl would be amazing. So she doesn't get any mice, rats or large locust type insects?

she refuses mice she used to eat pinkies as a baby but once she got tatse for beef that was it lol, if i put mice in she ingores them and screams for food, joys of her always having what she wants i suppose only my self to blame ( no never give her insects does get all her sups tho

I guess she knows the good things in live  , our cat refuses to catch sparrows (a huge pest over here) they must taste horrible, but let you be cutting up some raw chicken and the cat is a demanding bansehee. At work (my local zoo) there is a Tawny frogmouth that flat refuses to eat any mice that aren't white :) .

I once found a barn owl and brought it home in a box, meaning to take it to the local wildlife carer (it had been stunned - just needed a rest, a feed then release). I put the box in my bedroom and closed the door, telling my 2yr old son not to go in there and not open the box (Hello, Pandora!!). I forgot about the bird in the mad rush to make dinner and get ready for work but suddenly my son came tearing out of my room shrieking "ITS A BIRD ITS A BIRD ITS A BIRD". He'd snuck in there while i was busy, opened the box and the owl, deciding that this was his moment and he was taking it, flew out into my son's face. My poor son was sobbing with terror and i had to bite my tongue to stop from laughing. I'll be interested to see if he has a bird phobia when he's older
