My Girlfriend has just got a new Royal Python that she has decided to call Alfie. Quite small at the minute but he's very friendly and loves being picked up.

Katie(GF) says thank you. Alfie was quite a bargain at £100 for a Pastel Morph Royal Python.

Im not sure on the pastel, you mighta got fobbed off on that one, or just a low end pastel... but he has got gorgeous and very unusual markings!

yeah looks a normal to me but in my opinion the nicest looking, good snakes I had one can be frsutrating over winter period for eating

Oh no, it doesn't show in that picture but he's definitely not normal. They compared him and a normal male in the shop so we could see and there is a big difference. It's because of the lighting but he's paler and he's jut shed so he's not due a shed. Found the skin this morning and he's still paler than a norm.

Paler than a norm doesnt make it a pastel. Pastels are meant to be really yellow

But the eyes as well...

The eyes on a pastel are really pale slate grey.. they have really eery eyes!

Of course... there are varying qualities of pastel and im not expert... but id still be questioning this.

Beautiful, been deciding if I'm going to get a royal or not, my LRS (LOCAL REPTILE SHOP) has some in.
Any recommend royals?

Ah yeah, he's definitely a pastel, he's shed the other skin today while we were out. Turns out he was double shedding, he had 2 layers to shed which is generally uncommon but it could be because he got fed twice the week before Katie got him...
Now he's bright yellow and dark brown but I can't really get a picture as he's hiding and we aren't disturbing him tonight.
