Gibbiceps Growth Speed

Want a plec for my 240L and out of them all i think i like the sailfin plec the best but hear they grow to be the biggest..how long would it take for one to go from LFS size to say..7". and 10"? Months or years. I wont keep one in an unsuitable tank so once it grows i will either have a bigger tank or have him rehomed..but if i can put one in a 240 for at least a year then ill get one..

Mine was 12" within a year. Hit 7" in about 6 months - they grow pretty quickly. Was bought at 1.5".

think im gonna have to wait until the day i buy my plec to decide which one i want.maybe ill pick a bn when it comes to it but i'd prefer a better looker.

I like a large dorsal fin as well but I have moved away from the herbivores a little toward the carnivores. There seem to be a lot in that range which only grow around the 5 inch mark and some look pretty fine. It would be great if someone could discover a dwarf sailfin...
