Funny thing is they're called Maanvis (Moonfish) overhere. Just like Angels btw !

I like the way you say its super rare coloration, I have never even seen one of these, I was surprised by the shape of it.

Seen one of these fish off the west coast of Vancouver Island once just north of Brooks Peninsula. The water was too rough to take my hand off my paddle for a picture but it was massive and just resting on the surface. Been looking for them since but to no avail. They normally do not travel to cooler waters.

I have seen really large ocean sunfish (mola mola) while fishing here on the west coast of the USA. I encountered a few juveniles while stand up paddle boarding just outside the kelp beds near where I live. Remarkable creatures!!

Never seen one in person, but plenty of pictures. Super cool fish, one of my favorites.

I find it strange that the ocean is a fairly large place where there is apparently to the untrained eye not much variation in environmental detail but has a wide range of life in shapes and sizes.
