ghost shrimp

What does a ghost shrimp look like when it has eggs? I have 6, and 1 of the larger ones has a cluster of tan colored things on the bottom of it. Are these eggs? If not what are they? And if so, when will the be laid, hatch out, whatever it is that shrimp eggs do?

little black or brown balls that she fans with her feet? That's shrimp eggs. She probably won't hatch them though.

Oh really? That's pretty cool. I don't really need anymore shrimp, so it's no big deal if she doesn't. But just out of curiousity, what keeps them from hatching?

not a clue. sorry i can't help more. They are cool little things though aren't they. I think I may get a couple for my ten.

I bought 5 of them (was given six for some reason) but one died for some unknown reason this morning. Any idea why? I've only been able to see 2 at a time so far today, but haven't found any more dead ones, so I don't what the other 3 are up to. I just thought it was strange for that 1 to die.

The one may have died from them chemicals in you tanks. GS dont like any additives at all. Also with the fry. I have about 6 in my tank for about a month now and they all had fry in them and they all hatched them. I had so many little fry floating around in my tank i did not know what to do.....
