Ghost Shrimp

I recently ordered a 6.6 gallon bookshelf aquarium, and I was thinking about turning it into a small shrimp tank, preferably Ghost Shrimp.

Any help or advice i can get about this? how many ghost shrimp could I possibly put in there? I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 5-6.

and also; do I need live plants in there for them in order for them to thrive? because I really usually only use silk and sometimes plastic plants.

They'll live fine on fake plants but real plants is better in my opinion.
Ghost shrimps will take any food you give it and provide some areas for them to hide or climb.
One of my shrimp loves to climb the marble dolphin I put in there
