I have 2 ghost shrimp which usually hide and we never see them. However, on Saturday we fed the fish some live brine shrimp treats which live in brine (salty water). I put these into the tank using a pipette so some traces of the brine went into the freshwater tank.
As soon as the ghost shrimp "felt" the brine, the went crazy swimming everywhere - crazy as in it looked like they were having loads of fun swimming around the place. They are much larger than the brine shrimp so I'm sure the ghost shrimp weren't just curious about seeing the brine shrimp.
Does anyone know why this is?
The fishes were unaware of the small amounts of brine in the water.
Just wondered if anyone else experienced this!
Cheers,
Jon
