I'm starting and planted tank and don't want to constantly rub algae of the plants. So will ghost shrimp eat algae of the plants? And if not are there any other small animals that could do the job?
:thanks:

I just got 4 Amano shrimp last week and they are working hard eating the brown algae off my plants!

I have a 20 gallon. Are there better animals for cleaning algae that are small? How are cherry shrimp?

Brown algae (also known as diatoms) is eaten by otos, but once gone you need to feed them veggies etc. I've never known any algae eating shrimp to "clear algae" in the way you suggest - such that you don't need to do it. Addressing the cause would be better - do you have live plants? How long is your light on for? How often and how large are your water changes? :good:
