I have a new tank that is about a month old. There is a piece of bogwood in it that has white fungus on it - which is caused by the bogwood not being completely dead.

I moved two of my ghost shrimp from a smaller cycled tank (with a temp of about 74F) to the new tank - which is about 80F.

Both shrimp are now dead :-( And I any noticed that there are least two baby shrimp in the tank.

I'm wondering if there is anything in my current situation that would commonly cause shrimp to die ? I read 1 post about fungus maybe killing shrimp but thats all.

Also, if I dosed the tank with melafix (to kill the fungus on the bogwood) would it kill any shrimp in it ?

Did u acclimate them? if not that mightve killed them. also, the meds might say on the back harmful to inverts, so take a look. good luck!

I didnt acclimatise them - I'm a newbie. But they both lasted 1-2 weeks before dying.
