I have a serious algae problem, by that i mean my water is green.
I've heard that an increased level of CO2 will help plants grow, so if i was to adjust my internal fiter so there was less/no surface movement in theory this would make the level of co2 rise. is this correct?
Would doing this enable my plants to out compete the algae?

any help or advice would be great.

If you have a algae bloom ( green water ) turning your filter down will do nothing really..

water changes at least 35% for 4 weeks and 25% a week there after will help
also adding a DIY CO2 generator will help the plant out perforn the algae ( do a search on the forum for DIY CO2 ) also what type and how many watts do you have lighting wise ??

plants need good light and good co2 to beat out algae
