so i'm finally getting married and i was wondering what fish to get for my future wife for our community tank?

Depends on what kinds of fish your wife likes I guess. Make sure it's a hardy fish with a long lifespan though. It'd be a shame if it died soon after you get it.

Sit down and look through species books with her, go to the LFS and look at fish, and get a list of favorites. There's a good chance she'll see a fish and decide she HAS to have it, which will greatly shorten the rest of the list for stocking options. I did this with a girlfriend, and she decided immediately she HAD to have a dalmatian sailfin molly, and really liked pearl danios, and panda corys. I took those and threw together a "modular" stocking list with the fish she wanted and then a few other lists of options, and suggested picking one fish from each sublist.

wow,that sink is awesome.she wants a bichir for our larger tank but i can't get one until i switch to sand.i'm looking for a fish that will go well with rams,swordtails and mollies.

As to what fish - if she's into her fish, give her what she's not. If she's not into fish go with chocolates, flowers or sex and the city movie - I thought it would be romantic to buy my other half a gourami...she saw it as being an opportunity to buy more fish

she's into the fish as much as i am she's actually the one who got me into fishkeeping.and yes,she is a great lady.
