hi everyone.
i spoke to some of you in chat last night about this but was just after a little bit of clarification.
im setting up my old 25l for a male betta its all cycled but is purely just a tank water and filter atm.
i have a heater just not in there yet to save electricity.
my plan is for sand? as a substrate hope that should be ok.
plants wise i was thinking of maybe an amazon sword or two and a couple anubias tied onto something
would it be better to be tied onto rocks or wood?
is there any type of tail that is more interactive or do i just have to be lucky with it :p (my friends runs and hides at the sight of anything)
thanks in advance
sorry for all the questions.

Sand is fine for the substrate & your plant choice is good as Bettas need broad leaved plants to rest on.
I find plakats are livelier & more interactive as they aren't impeded by extra long fins

Wouldn't an amazon sword outgrow a 5g? You can move it when it does though I suppose.

My crowntail Discord seems interactive but I havn't had a plakat to compare his activity levels to.
He also likes resting on a banana plant.

I prefer wood over rocks so think the anubias would look better on that

Looking forward to seeing your new fishy when you get around to picking him/her up!

yea it would but my sorority always needs more cover :p
sounds good, im not looking to physically play with him just dont want one that hides the second you enter the room.
was thinking that pets at home has loads of cheap wood so might have a look.
dont worry i will post plenty of pictures :D

HE'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow norton! He looks amazing!
Under that blue light he looks really muscly and fit too. :D

thanks tall tree
hope he grows up to be as healthy as possible :p

Aww cute fellow! Grats on your new friend :)

thanks brittgs and nin glad you all approve of my gf's choice, the last pic is a link to a video as that was the only way i could get any sort of good video

I was wondering why the pic looked odd.. He seems active. I like how he goes blueredblueredblue with his tail C:

What is that broad leafed plant he's in front of?

yea probably should of mentioned that when i posted
