hey i bred my 2 bettas yesterday they had finished layed at 11 after 3 hourd of going at it, so as u do i took the female out and left the male to it well he was doing fine untill i went bk up to the room and no more eggs
i was upset but when i moved him back to his tank i saw some eggs were coming out his mouth i was like WHAT THE!!
so does anyone know y!!!!!!! he isnt doing the propper nest careing??

dont think he read the book :p

well it is his 1st spawn that i know of lol
but im still prettttttttttttttttttttttttty sure he has them in his mouth
dumb fish dont he know he isnt a mouth brooder lmao :D

He may have been in the process of moving them. Some Dad's will feel the nest is threatened where it is and move it to a "safer" place...do you see any eggs in another area of the tank? Taking the female out may have made him nervous (one of the downfalls to needing to remove her). I'm sure by now though he has eaten what was in his mouth. Try again in a couple of weeks (they both need time to recoup their energy and she needs time to produce more egss), it may take a couple trys, this isn't unusual.
