Hi
I want to buy a new tank that is 20 gallons and i was wondering if there is any way you can do it without live rock as i just dont like it. It has a wet/dry filter but will this be ok if i do water changes and clean it once a week it is going to be fish only tank. i will have powreheads, substrate, a heater, decorations ect.

thank you

Yes you can do it but the filtration in your tank will never be as good and you will have a harder time keeping water quality up, I personally wouldn't recommend doing a Nano tank without it.
You will also find that it will limit your choice of livestock as many fish and inverts rely on live rock for their food supply.

thanks, i will think about getting live rock i prob will

thanks again sean11

Your only other option is to run a sump full of LR and hide it inside a cabinet. That would work

Or fill the external filter with live rock, that would be the best of both worlds - you get the filtration of live rock without having to look at it ;)
