Ok then i have a hitchhiking crab in my tank that just will not come out, I have tried a trap no joy, tried in the middle of the night still no joy the thing can really since any movement around the tank if i watch the tank he might come out without any lights on but as soon as i move he is back into his hole which leads to lots of other holes.

I asked my lfs and they said if i drop the rock in r/o water it will come out, my question is will this do any damage to my live rock ?

Thanks

yes, it could potentially kill other organisms living in teh LR, and essentially turn it back to un-cured rock.

as you know there could be all sorts living in the rock so it's virtually impossible to predict the effect of doing this.

however if you are sure which bit of rock he is in you could do it with just that piece, the rest of the rock will remain cured and the bit you dunked should soon recover.

just don't do it with too much rock at once.

I know which rock its in THE BLOODY BOTTOM ONE typical, I might try and spear it ! I can stab it quicker than i can try and get some grips on it but if that dont work then its dunking time last resort though
