So I’m looking into getting a second 10 gallon and I wanted some suggestions for fish types and some easy plants to throw in. Huh short thread starter 🤔

Aphyosemion or Fundulopanchax species if you have slightly acid, soft water. As for plants, Anubias or Bucephalandra.

Let us have the numbers for GH and pH. With this small a tank the fish suited will tend to be more demanding in their requirements, and smaller fish have a higher metabolic rate so this is more important.

What he said. :)

Can you get a 20 gallon instead of 10?
A 20 gallon long has a better surface area for the fish.

If space is a limitation, get a double or triple tier stand and have 2 or 3 tanks, one above the other.

10 US gallons is 38ltrs. Take from that the space taken by substrate and any hardscape and you're likely to be around 25 - 30lts water volume.
Of course the water parameters are important, not only for the plants but the fish too. However I don't think you'll make much of a mistake just going with small plants. Some need high light while other are fine with low light. You can mix them but the results may differ. Anubias for instance prefer low light bu I still have them on top of my hardscape directly under the light. They are fine and have even flowered. Apart from Anubia, baby tears and dwarf hairgrass I'm hopeless on plant names.
I found that copying another tank that I loved is the best way to work things out.
My own nano tank setup is on this thread and it finished absolutely gorgeous. I was in 2 minds as to which of my aquascaped tanks to submit for this months TOTM entry.
I went with the one livestreaming from my signature link below. There are some lovely plants on that one too.
